Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn (born August 19, 1965) is an American actress. She is most famous for her starring role as deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. In her role as Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. Following the seventh season Sedgwick received an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010. The show ended on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick is also known for her recurring role in the role of Madeline Wuntch on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was nominated for a Golden Globe award in 1995 for her role on Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's other film roles include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's The Ones (1992) The Heart and Souls-1993), Phenomenon (1996), What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick is the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald and is an educator, family therapist, venture capitalist as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick VII Speech Therapist. Her mother was Jewish, was of English and Episcopalian origins. Sedgwick has declared publicly her Jewish heritage and said that she is a part of Passover seders.
